"One of the things that initially attracted me to a leadership position in the IC OSINT ecosystem 15 months ago was how undervalued it was within the IC/DOD community compared to to other disciplines. My initial thoughts were further validated when I took into account the existing output, how it was used, and factored into it the long-term potential to transform and improve the IC.

What does it really mean when I say OSINT was under-valued? During my remarks at the OSINT Foundation’s annual awards last month I provided more evidence to back up that assertion. 

“OSINT accounts for half of one percent of the total US Intelligence budget, but provides at least 20% of all citations in the President’s Daily Brief.”

I’m incredibly proud to work with partners across the IC and DOD enterprise who are passionate about the current and long term potential for OSINT to transform the larger intelligence profession. Over the next few posts I’ll explain in more detail how the changes made over the last 12-15 months put us in a better position for success going into this year!"
