Congratulations to Shawn Porter of the US Army's 312th Military Intelligence Battalion who is the 2023 LTC Ed Waller IC OSINT Practitioner of the Year. The award recognizes the OSINT professional who has demonstrated exceptional service to the nation and materially contributed to the OSINT discipline. A hands-on practitioner, Shawn not only managed the 312th's OSINT products, but ensured OSINT collection plans met tradecraft standards and oversight requirements. He was an essential contributor to the development and implementation of the Army's new fundamental OSINT Basic Course, helping create learning objectives for basic OSINT training. His nomination package notes he leads by example, and "represents himself, his team, his brigade, and the Army with integrity, candor, and sincerity and is steadfast in advocating for individuals within the OSINT discipline and the discipline itself." Presenting the award was Matthew D. Skilling, the 2022 OSINT Practitioner of the Year award recipient.
